In recent years, it is common to see the news that animals are starved to death because of eating plastic waste.

The pictures and news show that the animals have eaten the plastic and are having a hard time getting it out of their bodies. Accidentally ingested plastic is of no benefit to animals and can cause malnutrition, intestinal obstruction, or chronic poisoning from chemicals contained or attached to the plastic. If too much is swallowed, the plastic can get stirred up in the animals’ stomachs, ending up in a tangle that cannot be removed. The only way to do this is to operate on the animals. Without human intervention, the plastic keeps the animal from feeling hungry, doesn’t eat, and ends up starving to death. Such a death is torture, a long and painful process to die. These beautiful creatures bear our own mistakes.

An ecosystem is a circular system, and ignoring the laws of nature results in self-defeating consequences.

Plastic waste that humans throw away ends up in the ocean through storm water systems and river channels after heavy rains. Large pieces of plastic break up into smaller pieces in seawater, making it easier for animals to eat as food. Hundreds of Marine mammals, fish, birds and turtles mistake plastic for food. Marine life eats plastic, and humans capture it to eat, and plastic is part of the human food chain.

Data show that

Europeans who eat mussels and other shellfish eat 6,400 plastic particles a year.

A third of all fish caught in Britain contain plastic;

Nearly 60 percent of seabirds have plastic in their bodies, and an estimated 90 percent have eaten some kind of plastic.

Because of the improper disposal of plastic waste, plastic has not only become a “weapon” to kill animals, but also a “chronic poison” lurking in the human body.

Isn’t there a way to deal with plastic waste at its source?

Maybe water-soluble plastic will give you a clue

Water-soluble plastic film is made of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA, PVOH or PVAL), a high-water-soluble polymer material. Compared with traditional plastics, water-soluble plastic film is the most prominent advantages of environmental protection, safety, non-toxic, harmless, and has a good affinity with the natural environment. Using water-soluble plastic film as packaging material can completely solve the problem of plastic packaging waste disposal.
